Job Summary
We are hiring pastry chef / pastry assistant to work in our catering kitchen. The pastry assistant shall perform tasks assigned to them by the Pastry Manager and actively contribute as an integral part of the team. Our goal is to provide the highest quality food and service while never losing the personal touch that the company was built upon.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skill Set:
- 2+ years as a pastry chef/assistant in a restaurant or related field
- Proper time management and food preparations
- CA Food Handler Certified
- Detail Oriented
- Familiar with:
- o Breakfast breads
- o Proofing dough
- o French pastries
- o Cookies
- o Macarons
- o Cakes
- o Candy
- o
Physical
- Must be able to life and carry heavy items (50lbs)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must have the ability to work at a rapid pace
Attitude/Demeanor
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must possess listening skills with the ability to follow instructions closely
- Must be able to stay focused and on task
- Must remain teachable and flexible
- Must be a team player

Most off site staff positions are part time on-call with most event work being evenings and weekends. Events are located at private homes, venues and some unusual locations.
