POSITION SCOPE:
 
The Line Technician plays an important leadership role in the Filling/Packaging department. This person work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is responsible for overseeing activities on the filling/packaging line. The Line Technician gives direction, trains new employees and directly supports the department supervisors in executing and achieving safety, quality and production output requirements. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Read and understand Process Instructions (Pl), product labels, and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP); verify, communicate and improve SOPs and PI As instructed and required. 
Takes appropriate actions to correct any issues; ensures line area and equipment are kept organized and clean at all times; materials are properly de-issued and returned at end of job run.
Proactively plan/schedule line needs (Tooling Maintenance Changeovers, etc.) For each shift; predict tool wear and tool changes based on SPC/OEE Data.
 Communicate information to the supervisor (i.e. manpower, production, machine issues) and recommend remedial action to the supervisor as required. 
Read and interpret production reports and obtain first offs. 
Set up and maintain production assets (labeler, filler, and capper) to guarantee optimal run time. 
 Repairing equipment, tools and machines. 
Maintains line change-overs and set-ups are completed correctly and within required time.
Communicate with coworkers in order to solve immediate production concerns or complete production assignments.
 Complete production assignment in a timely manner and in accordance with department schedules. 
 Line Tech/Maintenance tools are strictly controlled at all times. 
Continuously monitor product for defects and quality. Identify the alignment, lot codes, debris and other observable defects. 
Investigates and resolve downtime issues; takes action to troubleshoot problems and correct any issues in a timely manner and make improvements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
 
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years’ experience with leading a manufacturing production crew on a continuous production line; Knowledge of the Manufacturing process of the line/ production area; basic computer skills; first aid trained or willing to obtain certification
 
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/CONTACTS: strong interpersonal and leadership skills to direct other while maintaining composure in a fast-paced continuous production line; excellent level of communication skills; able to speak, read and write in English  is required for successful job performance ; can work well in a team environment and support fellow team members 
 
PROBLEM SOLVING/JUDGMENT: responsible for solving simple technical problems; good mechanical aptitude and able to perform change-overs and set-ups, and make adjustments on line equipment using basic hand tools 
 
MENTAL EFFORT: requires average levels of concentration and/or attentiveness; average duration and/or intensity of efforts; requires average amounts of thinking, watching, listening, verifying, checking numbers, creating or designing 
 
PHYSICAL EFFORT: occasional duration or intensity of physical effort within production line,; including lifting 30lbs,moderate energy required in terms of standing walking, lifting keyboarding, pushing, pulling, sitting, packing, assembling, bending or twisting; includes moderate fine or coarse movements 
 
MATERIAL RESOURCES: average level of consequence and costs associated with errors as related to losses of time, money, or property; moderate responsibility for machinery, work aids, equipment, materials, properties, products, stock, inventory or tools

Compensation: $19-24 per hour
