Job Summary

You could spend the day perfecting your talents in fabrication and welding, and you may also continue to learn more about this incredible industry. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Understand information from a variety of sources, including blueprints, plans, and written specifications, in order to select proper materials and the needed amounts for a project.
  • Follow written plans and instructions from supervisors in order to 
  • Build steel or iron structural pieces and components when working on a project that involves a large structure like a commercial building, a bridge, a highway, or other public works project
  • Ensure proper placement, balance, and alignment of structural pieces by using levels, laser tools, etc.
  • Transform metal pieces into functional elements that meet the guidelines of the project by cutting materials and using fabrication techniques
  • Access challenging work positions that are either at elevation or otherwise difficult to reach while following the proper OSHA regulations
Job Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma/equivalent
  • Completion of welding certification or comparable experience in the field
  • Plasma table experience preferred (not required)
  • Knowledge of various types of materials and their properties
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
