Commercial HVAC Technician

Ellington Mechanical Services is a fast-growing Mechanical Contractor seeking a highly skilled and seasoned technician to join our team! Candidate must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment such as but not limited to chillers, boilers, VFR, ductless, water source heat pumps, fan coil units, AC & heat pump refrigerant units, and furnaces. Ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, communication skills, and able be to work well with other team members as well as maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC equipment to include refrigerant and hydronic HVAC systems
- Must be able to identify mechanical and electrical malfunctions for HVAC systems
- Guide and advise the customers to select the best, most appropriate air quality system; advising the customers of preventative maintenance, service agreements, emergency repairs, and warranties
- Efficiently perform emergency repairs
- Must be willing to be on call, open to performing emergency service calls, flexible to work weekends, evening/night shirts, and/or overtime
- Comply with EMS and OSHA safety standards
- Maintain records and daily logs of all service calls and project progress
- Must complete work to meet local codes and compliances
- May be responsible for on-site training of apprentice team members
- Able to self-perform startups
- Supervise work of other technician
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in industry related; willing to continue education in the HVAC field
- Journeyman or master HVAC license holder preferred
- Knowledge of hydronic systems
- EPA Type 2 Required; Type 3 Preferred
- Customer service; must be able to communicate effectively with customers
- Able to work well on a team
- Able to work with little to no supervision
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
