SWIM INSTRUCTOR
ROLE SUMMARY
Swim Instructors at Pods Swimming will be responsible for conducting swim lessons for multiple clients of different age and skill level. This role typically report to the Aquatics Manager.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to)
- Organize and instruct individual students and small groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
- Ensure lesson objectives adhere to Pods Swimming procedures and methods as referenced in the Training Manual, e-learning and during in service trainings.
- Educate and enforce safety rules. Strive to prevent accidents, maintain discipline. Administer first aid in the event of injury.
- Complete all paperwork as it pertains to student records and progress reports.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pool environment for clients, staff, and general public.
- Represent the Philosophy of Pods Swimming
- Perform cleaning tasks of both the pool and its surroundings as needed.
- Attend training sessions when hosted and ensure that training manuals, handouts, and study guides are completed if applicable or reviewed
- Display excellent customer service and communicate to everyone who comes to the facility.
- Smile and have fun during the entire shift. Assure that the last student gets the same enthusiasm as the first student.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a passion for the water and working with children.
- Constantly stay abreast of industry trends and new stroke techniques
- Knowledge of general safety rules and precautions related to a swimming pool environment.
- Must have professional demeanor and appearance when working with clients.
- Ability to work in a positive way with a wide range of students with special needs and
varying ages.
- Use appropriate communication skills in dealing with both children and adults.
- Must have ability perform the duties of a rigorous work schedule which includes lifting, loading, and unloading, and ability maneuver up to 40 lbs.
- Dependable motor vehicle transportation a must.
- Ability to work in and around swimming pools with exposure to chlorinated and chemically treated water.
- Knowledge of methods of rescue, life saving techniques, artificial respiration, and first aid a plus.
- Possessing certifications in the following a plus:
- Lifeguard Training

- First Aid
CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer
Compensation: $13.50 - $21.00 per hour
Member schools are independently owned and operated. Your application will go directly to the member school, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this school.
