Welder/Fitter

We are currently looking for a Structural Steel Fitter to join our fabrication shop. The successful candidate will work closely with welders and other fitters to assemble structural steel components according to drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
- Fit and assemble structural steel components (beams, columns, plates, etc.)
- Measure, mark, cut, and position materials accurately
- Use shop tools and equipment safely (grinders, drills, torches, cranes, lifts, etc.)
- Ensure assemblies meet quality and dimensional requirements before welding
- Work collaboratively with welders, laborers, and supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
- Experience as a structural steel fitter (shop experience preferred)
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
- Strong measuring and layout skills
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment
- Physically able to handle steel components and stand for long periods
- Safety-conscious and reliable
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years architectural welding experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Welding Processes
- High attention to detail.
- Must be able to read and build from prints and shop drawings.
- Must have a high school or equivalent diploma.
Compensation: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
