Job description
Lawson Adventure Park & Resort is looking for experienced raft guides to lead our team of skilled, passionate raft guides through the twists and turns of Clear Creek, Colorado for the 2023 summer. The Creek offers everything from class I-V rapids, in sections perfectly suited for beginner to advanced rafters.
Note: For those with qualifying river miles, a log and training certificate will need to be submitted.
Responsibilities:
- Trip Leads will be responsible for the fun and safety of all guests
- Creating an enjoyable environment for guests to learn and explore in
- Have the opportunity to help people get out of their comfort zones
- Properly inspect and gear boats for the day
- Prepare guests gear such as paddles, PFDs, wetsuits, and booties
- Inform guests on proper safety procedures and enforce said procedures on the rafts
- Communicate with front desk staff to know weather, water level, and raft trip details for the day
Requirements:
- At least 1500 rafting miles tracked in a river log
- Colorado State Training Certification required
- Additional compensation for those with Swiftwater Certification (SRT)
- Current CPR & Frist Aid Certification (Must acquire if hired uncertified. A CPR Training class will be hosted onsite on May 18th and payment must be submitted before the class is taken)
- Competent navigation experience through Class III-V rapids
- At least 1 year professional raft guide experience
- Additional pay for those with WFR Certification
- Open to working weekends, holidays, and being on call
- Capable of positive guest interaction, engaging in conversation, making the rafting fun and safe for everyone involved
Compensation:
- Pay will be per hour with additional compensation based on experience level

Compensation: $14.00 - $15.25 per hour
We are a family-friendly mountain resort in the Colorado Rocky Mountains! We are open year-round and have fully furnished cabins and camping yurts for guests to stay in. For activities we offer whitewater rafting, ATV tours, guided fishing trips, via ferrata guided mountain climb & zipline in the summer. In the winter we have guided snowshoeing trips and ice fishing! We also have our Adventure Basecamp Bar & Grille House which has a full service bar, coffee service, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. We are a great place for groups to come and adventure together!
