The Skate Patrol Team Member is responsible for maintaining safety of skaters, security, and individual property and cleanliness of facility.
 
Responsibilities
 
  •  Keep skaters off ice until the ice resurface is off the ice and the "Zamboni" doors are shut and secure.
  •  Admit all paid skaters to the ice.
  •  Carry first-aid supplies and radio while on the ice.
  •  Be alert. Enforce the "rules of the ice" courteously but firmly. Ask problem skaters to leave the ice; if they refuse, get assistance from a Manager on Duty.
  •  Keep all skaters moving in the same direction. Refrain from extended conversations.
  •  Distribute appropriate size ice skates to customers as needed.
  •  Protect fallen skaters from oncoming traffic and assist when necessary.
  •  Protect an injured skater from moving until they can be moved safely. Contact the M.O.D. if first aid is needed.  Keep other skaters away from the injured skater.
  •  Check all areas of the building, during intermissions, especially locker rooms, skate lounges, equipment areas, to see they are not being misused.
  •  At the end of a session, clear all skaters off the ice, close the entrances to the ice and return to the skate rental area to help collect skates.
  •  Assist with storage and inventory of all rental skates.
  •  Clean and maintain rental skates and skate rental area. Perform duties ranging from lifting, stocking, reaching, climbing, and organizing stock. This requires standing the majority of the work shift.
  •  After skates have been collected and shoes returned, go through the lobby, bathrooms and entrance areas cleaning per the check list or as instructed by Manager on Duty. Properly completes floor cleaning in assigned areas. Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance, by wearing the MVP Sports Clubs uniform (see uniform matrix) and name badge. Perform other duties as assigned.   

 Requirements 
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Above average ability to skate.
  • Ability to work courteously but firmly with people.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective customer working relationships with the public.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Physical Requirements:  Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; Lift/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating and use of telephone; See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
