Summer Camp Team Member
CPR/First Aid (Adult and Pediatric) certification required or willingness to obtain as part of training.
Schedule: May 14, 2026 – August 7, 2026 | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm 

Principal Function 
Guide and energize a group of children between 3 years and 11 years old through a full day of planned activities, creating a safe environment that is structured, engaging, and fun! 

 Position overview
  • Create a safe, positive, and energetic environment where kids feel welcomed, included, and encouraged.
  • Model kindness, respect, and good sportsmanship while helping campers build friendships and confidence.
  • Lead an assigned group of children through daily camp activities, ensuring a fun, engaging, and well-supervised experience.
 Core responsibilities
  • Handle administrative tasks, including daily camper check-in/check-out, and organizing the group’s activity schedule.
  • Facilitate active, engaging warm-up games and informative circle time to start the day and support smooth transitions between activities.
  • Supervise and actively engage with campers throughout the day, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Lead organized activities, explain rules clearly, and adapt games so that all campers can participate and have fun.
  • Support campers’ emotional needs by listening, encouraging positive behavior, and helping resolve minor conflicts calmly and respectfully.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff and, when needed, with parents or guardians about camper needs, successes, and concerns.
  • Provide your assigned group with a structured, safe, fun, and fitness-focused camp experience every day.
  • Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and transitions to keep the day running smoothly and on schedule.
 Sports and activity leadership
  • Run and support skills and drills, group games, and swimming games for campers.
  • Join campers in a variety of additional sports, activities, and pool time each day.
  • Participate in public ice-skating sessions alongside campers, ensuring safety and engagement.
  • Assist coaches and staff with tennis lessons for your group.
 Training and certification
  • Attend and actively participate in required water safety and camp training sessions mid May as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid (Adult and Pediatric) certification or be willing to obtain it as part of training.
 Professional standards
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance by wearing the Genesis Sportsplex Club uniform and athletic shoes.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to actively participate for the full shift.
  • Follow all camp, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures as outlined by Genesis Sportsplex Club.
  • Demonstrate a positive, respectful attitude toward campers, families, and coworkers at all times.
 Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in camp, school, childcare, coaching, or similar settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic child development and positive behavior management strategies preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage and motivate groups of children.
  • Comfortable leading active games, sports, and group activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Responsible, patient, and energetic, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with kids.
