Qualifications:

- Possess skills, attributes, and characteristics conducive to and suitable for working with young children
- 18 years of age or older with high school diploma or equivalent
- Obtain clearance through required background checks - Child Abuse Record Information background check and Criminal History Record Information background check - within two weeks of hire
- CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including the ability to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stand for a long time, work indoors and outdoors, and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, running, and lifting at least 40 pounds
Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Ensure the health & safety of all children at all times
- Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum across all domains of early learning
- Plan out daily activities and submit completed lesson plans to the office
- Engage and interact with the children throughout the day to provide a well rounded and developmentally appropriate early childhood education to all children in the classroom
- Supervise children at all times, making sure each child is receiving adequate care and making progress in learning
- Update Brightwheel app to keep parents informed of what their child is doing throughout the day
- Communicate regularly, honestly, and productively with parents
- Maintain records of children’s attendance and supervision throughout the day (*Brightwheel Name-to-Face)
- Participate in diaper changing and potty training as needed
- Maintain a record of student work and classroom observations in portfolio form
- Complete developmental assessments tri-annually and discuss child progress with parents
- Maintain at minimum a 90% attendance rating for each quarter
- Help maintain a safe and clean facility
- Work as part of a cohesive team, offering guidance and training for your areas of strength and accepting guidance and training from management and peers - be willing to learn and grow
- Able to adjust schedules accordingly to adapt to the changing needs of the center
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that allows for children to be safe, happy, and healthy
Strongly Preferred:
- Relevant College Level Coursework / Degree
- Teacher Certification and/or CDA
- Relevant Experience
Compensation: $14.50 - $22.00 per hour
