Heavy Civil Superintendent

- Lead all daily field operations from project start through closeout.
- Develop and communicate daily work plans and production goals.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor project schedules and drive production to meet milestones.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and equipment utilization.
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Coordinate inspections with owners, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Resolve field issues while minimizing schedule impacts.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, and project documentation.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and resource needs with the Project Manager and General Superintendent.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented jobsite culture.
- Mentor Foremen and field employees while supporting career development.
- 7+ years of Heavy Civil construction experience with at least 3 years as a Superintendent.
- Experience managing roadway, grading, utilities, concrete, bridge, or DOT projects.
- Strong leadership and crew management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple work activities.
- Working knowledge of scheduling and production planning.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- OSHA 30 Certification
- GDOT or other DOT project experience
- Knowledge of excavation safety, traffic control, confined space, fall protection, and heavy equipment operations
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Construction Management degree or equivalent field experience

CMES Inc. was founded in February 1996 by professional civil engineers. The initial operations of CMES Inc. were conducted from their home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The founders were only employees for a time, working diligently to obtain and complete projects within budget and on time as per contract specifications.
Today, we are still young, but also an aggressive company comprised of experienced professionals from the engineering, design, analysis, construction, and project management fields.
