Sr SQL Server DBA
Full Time • Fully Remote - US
Looking for Sr. SQL Server DBA.
Basic Requirements
- 12+ years’ experience working with SQL Server in production environments (at least 3 of those years must be with SQL Server 2017 and higher)
- 5+ years must be with high-transaction OLTP instances running > 50k batch requests/sec
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server Availability Groups with a minimum of 6 years working with them in production environments and a thorough understanding of their use cases, problems, and pitfalls
- 3+ years of experience working with Distributed Availability Groups
- 5+ years working with SQL Server on Azure (both PaaS and SaaS offerings)
- Proven ability to manage databases > 40TB in size containing tables with > 1B rows
- Experience migrating multi-terabyte SQL Server databases to Azure without downtime
- Demonstrated understanding of SQL Server wait stats - how they are used and what ones are relevant
- Knowledge of query options and hints - what ones exist and when you would consider using them
- High level of knowledge of Windows Server and WSFC with an understanding of things needed to manage HA and DR as well as troubleshoot performance and connectivity
- Strong experience architecting SQL Server for HA and DR while maintaining performance at scale
Pluses
Experience with SolarWinds SQL Sentry and knowledge to get under the covers and extract more data than provided by the clients
This is a remote position.
Compensation: $1.00 - $10.00 per hour
