Overview: Hybrid Supervising / Treating Contract Position for MD

Provider:
MD with active personal malpractice insurance
Position: Contractor role

Duties:
  • Supervise PMHNPs: Provide medical guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality mental health care, with the option to treat patients in a 100% telehealth setting.
  • Collaborate with PMHNPs: Offer medical advice and guidance to nurse practitioners.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Ensure adherence to state medical and nursing regulatory boards through standard of care agreements.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and audit clinical charts for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Approval of Standing Orders: Approve and sign standing orders for licensed nurses as needed per state law.
  • Collaborative Practice Agreement: Establish a collaborative practice agreement with the PMHNP upon hire.

If the MD would like to also treat:
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic methods and medication.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential patient records.

Requirements:
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Licensed and authorized to supervise PMHNPs per state board regulations.
  • No history of medical malpractice claims, verified by a third party.
  • Obtain and maintain practice insurance within one week prior to treating the first client.
  • Maintain a professional space to provide psychotherapy virtually, ensuring client privacy with access to a strong, protected Wi-Fi/internet connection.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize judgment to deliver care and services.
  • Experience in treating military populations is not required but highly recommended.
  • Comfortable using EMR and remote communication technology.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and caring provider who is non-judgmental toward patients with mental health needs, and flexible in clinical approach depending on patient preferences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-resolution skills.
Compensation
Hourly Compensation: Some MDs may be paid hourly for their supervision, with rates often lower than their regular compensation for similar work. 

Fixed Stipends: Some healthcare organizations offer fixed annual or monthly stipends for supervisory roles, ensuring consistent compensation. 

Per Chart Review: In some cases, MDs may charge a flat fee for reviewing charts, typically ranging from $5 to $20 per chart.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
