Position Summary
The Dietary Assistant is responsible for maintaining the food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition. This individual will also be heavily involved serving quality food in a timely manner while maintaining the elegance, grace and dignity of each resident.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains kitchen and dining area in a safe and sanitary condition for self, residents and others
  • Performs food preparation and food service duties as required according to facility guidelines and the current standards of practice
  • Responds to resident dietary requests in a positive and cooperative manner
  • Assists residents by providing a restaurant-style atmosphere
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

  • Food service experience preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have appropriate food handler's permit
  • Must enjoy working with seniors
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiries
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, grasp, handle, kneel, pull, push, stoop, squat, twist and transfer
  • Frequently required to lift 50 pounds
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to talk and hear
  • The noise level in the work environment can be quite loud
