About the Job

As a staff accountant, you'll be responsible for helping create financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. Currently, there are 14 franchises that must be reported financially on a monthly basis. Your duties may include processing transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with other departments. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for tasks like budgeting, forecasting, and identifying financial trends. Additionally, you may be involved in audits and tax preparation. Effective communication and proficiency in accounting software are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing balance sheet and income statement analyses and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll.
  • Assisting in the month-end close and performing journal entries needed to close out the books.
  • Applying financial, accounting, and control policies for consistent practice/application of GAAP across the company. 
  • Assisting in the process development of project/ job costing throughout the various franchises. 
  • Helping with the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP. 
  • Monitor the fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation working with the production team to maintain. 
  • Preparing and booking all payroll entries; plus, will be needed to help in the process of changing payroll software first quarter of 2024. 
  • Helping to support others on the Accounting/Finance team as needed in AR, AP, and project tracking. 
  • Participating in streamlining /automating processes and procedures and various initiatives spanning across all franchises. 

Position Requirements
  •  3+ years as a Staff Accountant required 
  •  2+ years with journal entries & month-end close required
  •  Franchise accounting experience (preferred) 
  •  Proficiency in spreadsheets and databases 
  •  Thorough knowledge and demonstrated skills in accounting and financial policies, procedures, and reporting 
  •  Experience working in a changing and dynamic environment (preferred) 
  •  BS in Accounting or Finance (preferred) 
  •  Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks Online, Sage, or other) 
  •  Effective communication and interpersonal skills
