Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct classes. Develop and lead engaging group fitness sessions suitable for seniors, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health.
- Safety First: Ensure all activities are safe and appropriate for the senior age group, adapting exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels and physical limitations.
- Inspirational Leadership: Motivate participants with enthusiasm and encouragement, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Educational Guidance: Educate class members about safe exercise techniques and the importance of regular physical activity for aging populations.
- Build Community: Encourage social interaction among class participants contributing to an overall sense of community and belonging.
- Feedback and Adaptation: Regularly solicit feedback from participants and adjust progress to meet their evolving needs.
- Maintain Expertise: Stay informed about th latest fitness trends and research related to senior health and fitness.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all exercise equipment is properly used and maintained.
Qualifications:
- Certificated in fitness instruction, preferably with a specialization in senior fitness (Silver Sneakers)
- Proven experience in leading group fitness classes with a focus om senior populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR with a current certification
- A compassionate end patient demeanor, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by older adults.
