Job Summary
A Lawn Mowing Technician performs services such as lawn mowing, cleaning, mulching, trimming, landscape maintenance, pruning, trimming, leaf picking, and similar tasks. Our Landscape Technicians work in a group of up to 5 people. Job Details:
- Salary starts at $18.50 per hour; a higher rate of payment may be available if you have industry experience, a driver's license, or industry-related certifications (Pesticide Applicator License, Tree Trimmer License, Arborist ISA Certification, PLT, etc.). $1/hour increase, as well as paid holidays after 90 days and a positive review from your supervisor.
- We work Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 a.m. (day length varies depending on weather and work).
- The typical workweek is 40 to 50 hours, with overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
- There is the possibility of working on weekends and holidays during bad weather.
Responsibilities:
- Mowing Lawns
- Operating a Backpack Blower
- Operating a String Trimmer
- Operate an edger
- Help your Team Leader complete assigned tasks for the day
- Be willing to cover where needed, as roles can change with the seasons
- Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to actively work on your feet throughout the day
- Ability to stay positive and professional, even at the end of a long day.
- Availability that allows working long hours during the high season
- To be qualified to drive, you must have a valid driver's license and complete our driver qualification course (pass a DOT physical exam with drug test, demonstrate safe vehicle driving skills when towing trailers or driving).
- Previous experience as a gardener/field caretaker preferred but not necessary.
- Experienced in the use of portable power tools.
- You must be able to climb hills, stairs, comfortably lift over 50 pounds repeatedly, and work standing for long periods of time.
- Willing to work on all weather elements.
How will my payment rate be determined?
Each job category has an associated pay range.
- Years of proven experience for the job you are applying for
- If you meet the insurance and qualification requirements to drive our vehicles
- Your knowledge and ability to operate kinds of equipment (lawn mower, truck, skid steer loader, wheel loader, etc.)
- If you have special licenses, such as a Pesticide Applicator License, Tree Trimmer License, ISA Arborist Certification, PLT, etc.
- Direct supervisor referrals impact the pay rate of new hires
- Management or leadership experience
- If you are bilingual
- Managers can match the pay rate of a team member recruited from a competitor.
Compensation: $18.00 - $26.50 per hour
