The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for the duties outlined by the hiring manager, which may include the following:
- Ensuring the safe handling and preparation of all foods;
- Preparing menus that include healthy snacks;
- Ensuring that the menus are always in compliance with state and federal regulations;
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling;
- Maintaining appropriate portion sizes;
- Ordering food and paper products.
- A Kitchen Coordinator must meet the following qualifications:
- the ability to prepare food (in food service states and where approved by GSI to prepare food) and serve food, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations;
- the ability to understand and comply with the franchisee’s policies relating to food service and employment policies;
- the ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, children and parents;
- the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies;
