Job Title: Social Emotional Wellness Specialist FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: School & Community Youth Services

Reports to: School and Community Youth Services (SCYS) Program Director and Lead Social Emotional Wellness

Summary of Responsibilities:

Provide in-person and community based one-on-one and/or small group activities for youth ages K to 12th grade as well as their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides in-person community-based one-on-one and small group activities for youth ages K to 12th grade and their families to support mental health wellness, socialization, coping skills, and stress management.
  • Conducts community outreach with MCPS, MC-Collaboration Council for Children Youth and Families, non-profits, and other community provider to identify youth that are nonengaged in Distance Learning or school as well as youth experiencing social isolation, anxiety, and depression.
  • Makes referrals for individuals/families for counseling or other social services as needed.
  • Consults with parents, school staff, or other providers regarding the progress of the child.
  • Attend’s school and parent meetings as needed.
  • Assists in the collection of program data for monthly and quarterly reports.
Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, psychology, or related field.

· Prior experience working with youth and families (internship experience considered).

· Must have own transportation.

· Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

· Bilingual preferred but not required (English/Spanish).

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Independent and flexible work style.

· Team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $52,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
