Family Support Therapist (Hourly, Pay Per Session)
CHADS Coalition for Mental Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.
Program Description
CHADS Family Support program is dedicated to ensuring that families have the emotional support and the key resources they need to navigate a challenging mental health care system. Through counseling, support groups, and post-crisis intervention (Postvention), CHADS assists families who are struggling with problems such as depression, anxiety, bullying, self-injury, and thoughts of suicide. Our target population is young people ages 12-25 who struggle with depression, self-injury behaviors or emotional issues.
Job Description for Family Support Therapist (hourly, pay per session)
The Family Support Therapist will work with families and adolescents to provide compassionate counseling that includes but is not limited to:
- Assessment, treatment, and resource development to navigate the mental health and social service systems
- Face to face or Tele Behavioral Health therapeutic counseling services for children/adolescents with emotional or mental health challenges or in suicidal crises
- Conduct billable (impactful) hours consisting of counseling, group counseling, case management, and school support services
- Facilitating support groups for adolescents with mental health challenges
- Accurately tracking, recording, and reporting data for all family support contacts in timely manner
- Providing support materials & resource development
- Compensation is for billable activities only
- Some evening hours may be required
- Any task as assigned by the Program Manager
Qualifications
- Preferred LCSW or LPC with experience working with populations age 12-25 and parents
- Comfortable with virtual/tele-behavioral health platforms
- Effective organizational and record keeping skills
- Dynamic and clear communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge and compassion regarding crisis intervention and suicide prevention
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation
The salary range for the Family Support Therapist (Hourly, Pay Per Session) is $37-$44 per billable (impactful) hour.

CHADS is a 501(c)(3) organization offering Signs of Suicide®, Family Support, and Social Emotional Well-being programs to advance the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide. Aside from providing adolescents and young adults ages 25 and under with counseling services and educational programs, we also serve parents, educators, and community members with resources, presentations, and more to provide a holistic and proactive approach to mental illness and bullying.
