The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Regulatory Department. They manage customer inquiries related to regulatory compliance, collaborate with purchasing to maintain and enhance the regulatory database for materials, and conduct research on new and updated regulatory requirements. All tasks must align with the Quality Management System processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and promptly respond to regulatory inquiries from customers.
  • Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) are obtained for all materials before arrival at company’s facility.
  • Review and request documentation for specific raw materials to maintain an accurate Material Documentation Library.
  • Coordinate the completion and accuracy review of outgoing SDS.
  • Stay updated on evolving regulatory environments and requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to acquire new and updated regulatory information as needed.
  • Research regulatory requirements for future markets based on customer and internal requests.
  • Regularly engage with customers to update them on regulatory initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and/or a minimum of 1-3 years of industry experience preferred.
Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Language/Communication Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Other Required Abilities:

  • Strong reasoning ability.
  • Understanding of FDA, DOT, EPA regulations, and international regulatory organizations as required.
  • Exposure to polymer or chemical processing preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and graphic presentations.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory officials and customers.
Working Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
Compensation: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
