What you'll be doing:
- Create a fun and safe learning environment for toddlers (ages 2-4)
- Help develop and carry out lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards
- Supervise the children during daily routines and activities, making sure they are safe and happy
- Build relationships with the toddlers, helping them develop their social and emotional skills
- Work collaboratively with other teachers
- Communicate with parents about their child's progress
- Participate in professional development opportunities to keep your skills up-to-date
Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher with planning, running, and evaluating classroom activities
- Help supervise the children and make sure they are safe at all times
- Take charge of the classroom and the children when the main teacher is not there
- Help with the children's daily needs like diapering, feeding, and getting them dressed
- Help keep the classroom clean and safe
- Communicate effectively with parents
- Be reliable and show up to work on time
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and other team activities
- Be a team player and be respectful of others
- Dress and act professionally
- Follow the center's policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Enjoy working with young children, families, and colleagues
- Be a team player
- Have strong communication skills
- Be able to supervise young children
- Be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and move around the classroom
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a negative TB test
- Get CPR/First Aid certified within 30 days of being hired
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be enrolled in a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate program and complete it within 90 days, or be working towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Must complete 24 hours of child development training every year
