Job Description  
Drive Engineering Corp. is currently seeking an entry level Traffic Designer/Engineer to fulfill a junior  level position (0-3 years’ experience) working under the direction of a licensed engineer to complete various tasks related to transportation and traffic engineering projects.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a growth mindset and interest to become a Traffic subject matter expert. The position is an opportunity to be in a cutting-edge field within an expanding company that has an excellent reputation in the transportation industry.
  
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Conduct field investigations and data collection including traffic counts.
  • Review and summarize crash reports
  • Produce traffic and crash analyses, memos, and traffic engineering reports in accordance with PennDOT and other industry publications
  • Conduct traffic capacity analyses and simulation
  • Perform traffic operation analyses ranging from small scale projects and isolated intersections to complex scenarios for urban arterial networks and major freeway systems
  • Prepare signal warrant studies, signal calculation and timing analyses
  • Assist with developing traffic signal plans, traffic control plans, signing plans, pavement marking plans.
  • Assist with developing plans, specifications, quantities and estimates
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants and our clients
  • Represent Drive Engineering at industry outings and events
Education and Requirements
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering with Traffic Engineering electives from an accredited institution is required
  • PE in training
  • Obtain PE Certification in 2 years
Competencies
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills: Proficient at writing and editing documents in Microsoft Word. Proficient at using Excel to sort data and create tables and graphs. Proficient at Power Point.

  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and complete tasks on time
  • Outstanding attention to detail; able to proof and back check own work.
  • Ability to learn/use HCS, Synchro, Vissim traffic programs
  • Ability to use PennDOT publications and standards, MUTCD, and AASHTO guidelines
  • Ability to learn and use AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
