Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Free Standing Emergency Department (ED)
Responsibilities:
- Triage patients upon arrival, assessing the severity of their condition, prioritizing care, and initiating appropriate interventions to stabilize them.
- Provide emergency nursing care, including administering medications, starting IVs, wound care, and performing life-saving procedures in collaboration with the medical team.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, recognizing and responding to changes in their condition promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of emergency cases.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and follow-up care, ensuring they understand discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes, in compliance with regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department or critical care setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
