Job Description:

An established leader in light-weight materials production is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join their team in Davenport, IA. This facility is renowned for its significant contributions to the aerospace, automotive, packaging, and industrial markets. The facility has a rich history dating back to 1948 and remains a key player in the global aluminum industry. The ideal candidate will provide essential technical support and leadership in maintaining and enhancing the facility's production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote a safe workplace by actively engaging in safety processes and adhering to company EHS policies.
  • Provide technical and tactical support for both planned and unplanned equipment breakdowns and outages on production centers, with a focus on specialized equipment such as Direct Fire melt furnaces, Allen Bradley Programmable Controllers, RS Logics, and AC/DC drives.
  • Assist Engineering teams in tuning, checking out, and commissioning new and revised equipment.
  • Train and mentor Unit Supervisors and craftspeople to continuously improve technical skills across the organization.
  • Lead the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIPs), and related procedures for new and existing equipment; provide training on these procedures.
  • Provide technical input to preventative and predictive maintenance systems to ensure the long-term viability of equipment.
  • Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts, documenting and retaining records on technical issues.
  • Assist in managing critical spare parts inventory.
  • Apply business system concepts and stability tools in daily activities to integrate critical maintenance processes into operations.
  • Maintain flexibility in work hours, as the role may require off-shift support depending on business needs (typically M-F 7am-4pm).
Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading electrical drawings, troubleshooting to root cause, and implementing repairs to restore equipment functionality.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship, four years of on-the-job training, or an electrical degree from an accredited technical college or institution.
  • Broad electrical experience, particularly with non-destructive testing systems.
  • Experience with servo systems, stepper drives, PLC programming and troubleshooting, AC & DC motors, and variable speed drives.
  • Knowledge of process control and instrumentation principles.
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
