Job Summary:
As a Part-Time HR/AR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Human Resources and Accounts Receivable departments. You will be responsible for assisting in various HR and AR functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in both areas.
Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources:
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Maintain employee records, both physical and digital, and ensure confidentiality.
- Help with benefits administration and resolve employee inquiries related to benefits.
- Support the HR Manager with training and development initiatives

Accounts Receivable:
- Process incoming payments and accurately record transactions in the accounting system.
- Assist in reconciling accounts and following up on outstanding invoices.
- Communicate with clients and customers regarding billing inquiries and payment reminders.
- Generate financial reports and assist in preparing data for audits.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a related field
- Prior experience in HR or AR is a plus, but not required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Asana or related project management tool
- High attention to detail
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Professional attitude
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with flexible working hours, approximately 20-25 hours per week.

Why Was the Company Started?

During a search for furniture to support and display his home entertainment components, Sal discovered there was nothing in the marketplace that met his requirements. He was hoping to find furniture of good quality that could be configured to meet his current needs, but flexible enough to accommodate his entertainment system as it changed over time.
Sal decided to apply his background in sculpture and design to create some furniture on his own, and the Archetype System of shelving was born. The positive response to his designs from family and friends convinced him that others might be interested in his designs as well. So, in 1992 Sal founded Salamander Designs, Ltd. Since then it has become a leader in the consumer electronics furniture marketplace, offering advanced flexible solutions for audio and video enthusiasts.

HOW WE OPERATE
We at Salamander are heavily process driven and strive for Continuous Improvement in everything that we do. Quality control is a key focus for our company and we measure our performance frequently.
MADE TO ORDER
Our facility is designed for materials and production to flow through an efficient process. Salamander manages using “Lean Manufacturing” principles and “pull manufacturing” techniques. This process allows us to Build-to-order thereby allowing us to carry virtually no finished goods stock. The concept is for the customer to “pull” the product through production with his order…they ask for it and we build it.
OUR FACILITY
Salamander is located in Bloomfield, Connecticut and occupies a modern 85,000 SF facility just north of Hartford and 2 hours from Boston and New York City.
