The role involves repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment following the manufacturer’s guidelines, utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the operation of mechanical equipment and listen to detect any issues.
- Disassemble machines to access and remove faulty parts, using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
- Inspect parts for defects by evaluating their shape and texture.
- Measure and check used parts to ensure they meet dimensional standards, using tools like calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
- Adjust functional components of equipment and control systems using the proper tools.
- Repair or replace damaged parts as needed.
- Install specialized functional and structural components into machinery.
- Start machines to ensure they perform correctly after repairs.
Additional Duties:
- Lubricate and clean machinery components regularly.
- May be responsible for initiating purchase orders for replacement parts.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong math skills for precise measurements.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
- Understanding of electrical systems, PC-based controls, and electronics troubleshooting.
Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or:
- Minimum of three years of experience in repairing and maintaining various types of machinery.
Required Employee Training:
- Basic safety protocols.
- Forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Quality control training for new parts.
- Safe use of common hand and power tools such as hammers, wrenches, drills, and saws.
- Use of lifting equipment like hoists and power jacks.
- Machinery lubrication, including identifying key points for maintenance.
- Reading and interpreting instructional diagrams.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the Interflex work order procedure.
Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
