We work with a wide range of businesses to enhance their branding and marketing through innovative signage, banners, and more. We are currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Outside Sales Representative to join our team and drive business growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Generate New Business: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building relationships with decision-makers, business owners, and local organizations. Utilize cold-calling, in-person visits, social media, and email outreach to develop a robust sales pipeline. Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and construction bids, ensuring that all submissions are timely, accurate, and strategically positioned to win contracts. Leverage relationships with corporate clients and procurement teams to navigate the bidding process effectively and secure new business. 
  • Consult & Close Sales: Understand client needs and offer tailored signage solutions that address their unique marketing and branding challenges. Conduct on-site meetings and product demonstrations to present proposals and close deals.
  • Collaborate & Advise: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, partnering with our internal teams to ensure seamless project execution from sale to installation.
  • Maintain Relationships: Cultivate long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals. Build a strong network in the local business community as well as with corporate clients, navigating their procurement processes to position FASTSIGNS of Gurnee as a preferred vendor. 
  • Track Your Success: Monitor and report on your performance metrics, including leads, sales conversions, and overall client satisfaction. Use CRM systems to maintain detailed records of interactions and progress.
Skills & Qualifications:

  • Sales Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in a quota-driven, business-to-business environment. Previous experience in the signage, marketing, or visual communications industry is a plus.
  • Self-Starter & Goal-Oriented: You’re proactive, resilient, and not afraid of rejection. You’re driven by achieving sales goals and have a proven ability to cold call and generate leads independently.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. You can effectively present ideas, negotiate, and build rapport with clients in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Consultative Selling: Ability to understand a client's business needs and provide strategic, custom solutions that drive results.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot to track performance and manage client relationships. Familiarity with social selling tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus. Comfort using internal point of sale system to track sales and client communications is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with the sales, marketing, and production teams to deliver the best possible solutions to clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in industries such as retail, marketing, construction, facilities, business development, interior design, real estate, or other customer-facing roles
  • Familiarity with visual communications or the signage industry is a bonus

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
