Position Overview:
The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for a broad range of human resources functions, including HR compliance, employee onboarding, OSHA reporting, and employee handbook management. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, with a dotted line to the CFO, this role will also collaborate with other members of the headquarters staff to support employee engagement and retention efforts. The Senior HR Generalist ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, while also contributing to a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

HR Compliance & OSHA Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of HR-related laws and best practices, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, and OSHA.
- Prepare and submit OSHA reports and maintain accurate records of workplace injuries and safety compliance.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current legal and organizational requirements.
- Ensure adherence to annual benefits enrollment requirements.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and suggest improvements.

Employee Onboarding:
- Manage the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork, orientation, and ongoing employee integration.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including setting up initial training and performance goals.
- Gather feedback from new hires to continuously improve the onboarding process.

Employee Handbook:
- Maintain and update the company’s employee handbook to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Communicate updates and provide training to employees on handbook changes.

Performance Management:
- Support the Head of HR in organizing and overseeing the performance review process, ensuring that it aligns with company goals and promotes employee growth.
- Collaborate with managers to set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees.
- Drive accountability for performance management across all departments, ensuring consistency and fairness.

Collaboration on Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Work closely with other headquarters staff to support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs to enhance employee satisfaction, culture, and retention.

Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Support employees with payroll and benefits inquiries and manage annual benefits open enrollment.
- Support HR initiatives, including employee engagement, performance management, and talent development programs.
- Contribute to HR projects/process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Act as a trusted advisor for employees and leadership on HR-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of HR experience with hands-on expertise in compliance, payroll, benefits administration, workers' compensation, OSHA reporting, and employee relations.

- Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll, and benefits management.
- Proficiency in OSHA reporting and maintaining workplace safety standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll software systems.

Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification preferred.
Work remote temporarily due to COVID-19.
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
