DBIS Shared Living and Outreach Assistant Director
Location: Holyoke, MA (Riverdale Rd)
Salary: $50,000

As the Assistant Director of one of our Shared Living and Outreach programs, you will play an important role in creating environments that adapt to the changing needs and desires of the people we serve, giving them opportunities to grow, thrive, and live their best lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Help Find Homes: Assist individuals in finding suitable housing, supporting them through the application process and lease agreements to create a stable and happy living environment.

Ensure Program Compliance: Oversee systems that ensure we meet all licensing regulations, making sure our programs run smoothly and effectively.

Support Applications: Assist individuals with completing important paperwork for MassHealth, DTA, housing applications, and more, making sure they get the resources they need.

Build Strong Relationships: Communicate regularly with parents, doctors, hospitals, and community agencies to ensure the best care for individuals.

Be the Connection: Serve as a liaison between the Department of Developmental Services and the individuals you work with, keeping communication open and clear.

Collaborate with Leadership: Attend regular meetings to coordinate program activities and make sure we’re all working together towards our goals.

Prepare for Success: Oversee the application process for potential shared living providers, ensuring homes are ready for licensing approval.

Administrative Support: Provide crucial administrative support for both our outreach and shared living programs, helping everything run smoothly.

Respond in Emergencies: Be ready to act quickly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring everyone stays safe.

Maintain Confidentiality: Enforce program regulations and maintain the confidentiality of individuals at all times.

Make Decisions in Crisis: Step up in times of crisis when the Director of Operations is not available, ensuring professional and timely communication with all necessary parties.

Keep Records: Maintain accurate and confidential records for individuals, ensuring everything is up-to-date and organized.

Qualifications:
- Three years’ experience working with people who have developmental delays or brain injuries.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license for at least six months and a good driving record.
- Basic computer skills.
- Physical ability to help residents and keep them safe.
- Training in MAP (Medication Administration Program), PABC, and/or First Aid is a plus.
