Kitchen Suppression Service Technician

Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is currently looking for a Kitchen Suppression Service Technician that is interested in testing and inspecting fire suppression systems within the restaurant and food service industry. This candidate would answer customer calls for service and be able to troubleshoot and repair fire systems effectively while communicating with the customers during the service calls.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspect and test kitchen hood fire suppression systems from a variety of manufacturers including Ansul, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, and Kidde
- Maintain a working knowledge of fire suppression products and new fire codes as they change and communicate new industry requirements to the customer
- Inspect fire system piping, links, storage tanks and wiring for corrosion, blockage, cracking or other damage that would hinder the systems responsiveness and readiness in emergency situations
- Document inspection findings accurately for future calls for service and to schedule future repairs
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs of fire systems
- Develop and maintain a professional image and good customer relationships
Qualifications:
- Previous fire protection experience or other related trades experience including plumbing, low voltage or mechanical is preferred
- Experience working with customers in a service oriented industry is preferred
- Comfortable working with basic hand tools and following SOPs
- Travel required; candidate should possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of applicable fire codes and regulations
- Maintain strong attention to detail while in a physically demanding environment
