Position Summary
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families? Our newly developing Golden Heart Hospice is seeking a caring Chaplain to join our dedicated team. In this role, the Hospice Chaplain is responsible for creating and developing a nurturing spiritual presence throughout the organization. This person will also provide an on-going and direct ministry to patients, their families, the Hospice team, in addition to developing positive relationships with the community clergy.

Requirements:
  • Must be an individual who, by ordination or by ecclesiastical endorsement from the individual's denomination, has been approved to function in a pastoral capacity.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in working with patients and families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary group. 
  • Comfort in an interfaith setting. 
  • Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values. 
  • Ability to network with community clergy and congregations. 
  • Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care. 
  • If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order. 
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in working with patients and families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.Computer and basic office equipment. 
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs for internal and external communications, presentations, database tracking/reporting, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must be organized and able to perform multiple, critical tasks simultaneously and frequently.
