- Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the pool, slide, and/or lazy river facilities
- Provide emergency care and treatment until the arrival of emergency medical services, as required
- Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of guests in the event of an emergency
- Rescues guests and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid and CPR
- Safeguard and regulate pool guests by enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations
- Assists in the proper maintenance and sanitary up keep of the pool facility
- Prepare activity reports and/or accident reports, as needed
- Monitor pool-related activities and report any safety issues
- Direct guests out of the pool in hazardous conditions
- Open the pool facility in the morning and close the pool facility at the end of the day
- Maintain a safe environment in and around the pool facility
- Attend in-service training, as required
- Provides excellent guest service, while continuing to monitor pool facility
- Operates equipment safety and reports any unsafe work conditions to supervisor
- Any and all duties assigned by management
- Must have American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate, American Red Cross First Aid certificate, and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate
- Previous lifeguard experience is preferred
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (i.e. drug test, background check, etc)
- Must have full availability and be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write and speak English (multi-lingual a plus)
- Ability to understand, follow and give written and oral instructions
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
- Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
- Ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees and guests

- Ability to frequently (<8 hours per day) lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds of weight
- Ability to (<1 hour per day) lift more than 50 pounds of weight, as needed during rescue
- Ability to frequently immerse body in water frequently
- Ability to work outdoors, including prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures and intense or inclement weather conditions
