Freedom Boat Club - Location Manager, Operations Department

Ready to trade fluorescent lights for sunshine and salt air?
Freedom Boat Club, the nation’s largest and most trusted boat club, is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Manager to lead operations at our newest and most historic Plymouth Massachusetts location! If you thrive on delivering amazing customer experiences, love being on the water, and want to join a fast-growing company that feels more like a lifestyle than a job—this might be your dream role.

As a Manager at Freedom Boat Club, you won’t be stuck behind a desk. You’ll be leading a passionate team, interacting with members, and keeping our fleet running smoothly—all while enjoying a waterfront view.

What You'll Be Doing (aka Your Day at the Club):

  • Be the go-to leader who follows and promotes safety and procedures—because smooth sailing starts with smart operations.

  • Keep us shipshape! Ensure reports, maintenance logs, and reservations are always on point.

  • Set the standard: lead by example, and keep both staff and members aligned with our policies.

  • Roll out the red carpet—literally! Deliver unforgettable service to our members and their guests.

  • Help build your dream team by recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling a stellar crew (with support from your supervisor).

  • Stay hands-on with weekly safety inspections and daily boat checks—because details matter.

  • Keep supplies stocked and ahead of the game—no one likes running out of sunscreen or dock lines!

  • Report any damaged vessels to commercial salvage to keep our fleet in top condition.

  • Stay in sync with your Operations Manager to keep the whole show running smoothly.

  • Get your hands dirty with seasonal tasks like winterizing, wrapping, painting, buffing, detailing, and yard work (for year-round team members).

  • Join your team on the docks—because the best managers lead from the front.

  • Keep members in the loop with updates on weather, sea conditions, and daily confirmations.

  • Balance the books with smart scheduling and keeping overtime in check.

  • Be the friendly face of Freedom Boat Club to our marina partners, dockmasters, and fuel attendants.

What You’ll Need to Bring Aboard:

  • Massachusetts NASBLA Boating Safety Certificate (or ability to obtain one).

  • Availability to work five 10-hour days per week—including most weekends.

  • Physical strength to lift 50 lbs and flexibility to reach into tight spaces.

  • Must be 18 or older with a can-do attitude and a professional appearance.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all kinds of weather—sunshine, sprinkles, or sea breeze.

  • Confident handling boats up to 26’ and performing basic maintenance.

  • A genuine desire to wow members with top-tier, Red Carpet Service.

  • Comfortable reading marine and tide charts and staying ahead of weather conditions.

  • A positive, team-first mindset—treating everyone with respect and leading with integrity.

Why Join Freedom Boat Club?

  • Be part of a rapidly growing, award-winning brand.

  • Work outdoors with a passionate team and great members.

  • Enjoy a fast-paced, active environment where no two days are the same.

  • Help people make unforgettable memories on the water—every single day.
