As a Landscape Designer/Planner, you will be responsible for designing and planning aesthetically pleasing, functional, and sustainable landscapes for residential, commercial, and municipal properties. You will work closely with our clients to transform their outdoor spaces by considering their vision, environmental factors, budget, and long-term maintenance needs. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized landscape designs, including layouts for lawns, gardens, patios, walkways, water features, and other outdoor elements.
  • Assess client properties to understand soil conditions, climate, sun exposure, drainage, and plant suitability for the environment. Provide expert advice on plant selection, hardscaping, and irrigation needs.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their design preferences, functional requirements, and budget constraints. Provide clear communication and regular updates throughout the design process.
  • Recommend plants, trees, shrubs, and materials that will enhance the aesthetic and ecological value of the landscape while being cost-effective and easy to maintain.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure that landscape designs are executed accurately, including working with contractors and crew members during installation and overseeing quality control.
  • Provide insights on pest control and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies relevant to landscape health.
  • Create ongoing landscape maintenance schedules and advise clients on proper care and upkeep of their newly designed spaces to ensure longevity and health.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by providing design portfolios, attending client meetings, and helping with promotional events, contributing to business growth. 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field.
  • Certification from a recognized landscape design organization (e.g., CLD - Certified Landscape Designer) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in landscape design, preferably in a lawn care or related outdoor services industry.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems, soil science, plant selection, and sustainable landscaping practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with a diverse range of clients and team members.
  • Ability to create accurate and detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design software (AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for client site visits).

Compensation: $656.72 - $889.13 per week
