Are you looking to leverage your expertise to grow a role that offers varied and challenging work? Our company, a leading parent organization that owns and operates 300+ franchise locations across North America, seeks a new Accounting Manager. 

In this role, you will assist the Controller with the franchisor accounting operations of the company in the US. This position will play an important role in ensuring the accounting processes will support and enhance the company’s business and financial objectives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounting handling monthly close and account reconciliations
  • Perform or review all balance sheet account analyses and maintain monthly reconciliations including cash, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, AR, AP, deferred revenue/cost, notes receivable, allowance for doubtful accounts, intercompany, other miscellaneous accounts.
  • Prepare and review manual and adjusting journal entries
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and financial packages
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects requested by management.
  • Assist with financial and SOX audits
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget
  • Work on federal and state tax filings
  • Maintain monthly schedules used in the preparation and completion of the month-end closing process
  • Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Manage and oversee the monthly Sales and Billing process, includes collecting, reviewing, auditing franchisee sales, calculating royalties and ensuring all billing/invoices are completed monthly in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare Non-Current AR report and communicate key personnel within the company
  • Implement and document policies and procedures that govern accounting functions.
  • Perform strategic planning and priority setting for the billing department.
  • Manage, train, and educate the subordinates team on respective responsibilities and duties.
  • Responsible for the management of accounting team including hiring, leading, coaching, training and development
  • Supervise, manage and provide team support with completing Goal Setting & Review (GS&R) meetings with team members focusing on continuous improvement. 
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive for the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, SharePoint)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)   
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct a plus

Required Education and Experience 
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
  • Minimum 3 plus years’ experience in a supervisory/management role
Preferred Education and Experience
 
  • MBA and CPA a plus
  • Experience within a franchise industry 
  • Experience within the restoration and/or construction industry in an accounting role

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time 
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents 
  • Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone 
  • Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and pass a background check
Work Environment  

The employee will be working on a hybrid basis, between in-office and remotely from home.  The employee will be exposed to normal conditions of air conditioning and heat.   Most work will be conducted over email, video conferencing, and telephone. The employee must have access to a stable internet connection when working out of office.  The employee must use the provided VPN technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision. 
 
Travel   
 
This position may require up to 5% travel.  This position may require travel for company meetings/events and trainings.
