Job Description:
We are currently seeking a reliable preschool kitchen coordinator/teacher aid to join our team. They will be responsible for serving our school-catered lunches and packed student meals and will relieve our Lead teachers for breaks in the afternoon. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen and knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines. They will also help oversee children in classrooms to aid our Lead Teachers during breaks.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Oversee children when Relieving Lead Teachers for break times.
- Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Supporting each child’s social and emotional development
- Establishing positive and effective family relations
- Working with the classroom teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty
- Previous experience working as a cook, preferably in a daycare or school setting (preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
