About the Role
As a caregiver, you will work directly with residents to provide personalized care, following support plans tailored to their needs. Your compassion and dedication will foster genuine relationships and positively impact their lives.
Key Responsibilities

Daily Living Assistance: Help residents with daily activities, such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles.

Personal Care: Assist with hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Household Support: Perform tasks such as changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and organized home environment.

Medication Support: Administer prescribed medications and immunizations following protocols.

Health Monitoring: Observe and document residents' health, conditions, and progress, and communicate any changes to supervisors.

Engagement and Inclusion: Encourage participation in exercises, social activities, and community inclusion.
- Companionship: Build meaningful relationships through conversation or reading aloud to promote mental health and alertness.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
- At least one year of prior professional caregiver experience.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift, perform repetitive tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse patient needs.
- Empathy, reliability, and strong communication skills.
- Graduation from an accredited Home Health Aide program.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Certification in Medication Administration.

Unique Caring Opportunities, Inc. was birthed in the year of 2005 as a solo agency, providing services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. These services include, but not limited to, personal care assistance and companion services, by Mrs. Adriane Filer.
Several years went by and Mrs. Filer had a vision to start a 24-hour housing opportunity within the Agency that has now created several homes, where we currently house individuals with developmental disabilities.
Unique Caring Opportunities has given opportunities and hope to residents over the years that has been pleasant and meaningful for their lives. This is the reason why the organization has continued to grow and remain successful over the years. Mrs. Filer has a heart for her residents and enjoys working for others who share the same heart for the work!
The Mission of Unique Caring Opportunities is to provide quality supportive services that are Unique to the needs of Persons with Developmental Disabilities. In addition, Unique Caring Opportunities will provide support and assistance to the families and/or guardians of those being served through the Home and Community Based Service Medicaid Waiver and Family Supported Living Waiver and assist the individuals being served by both the HCBS Medicaid Waiver and the Family Supported Living Waiver to achieve a prosperous and fulfilling life within the community and to become more independent in making choices that pertain to and impact their life.
