Job Summary:
As a PrePress Technician, you will play a critical role in the production process by ensuring digital files are correctly prepared, proofed, and converted into printing plates. You will work closely with the production team to maintain a seamless workflow and ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in all prepress tasks. This position operates on the 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and is essential for ensuring our print production runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preflight and process supplied digital files, ensuring they are press-ready.
- Handle page layout (Adobe InDesign), color retouching (Adobe Photoshop), and PDF preparation (Adobe Acrobat).
- Manage digital proofing using Epson and reader proofing devices.
- Create plate imposition template files following job layouts.
- Review and QC digital impositions, ensuring accuracy against contract proofs.
- Operate digital platesetters and plate benders, including quality checks and maintenance.
- Maintain equipment calibration and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and job specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while upholding confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Digital Premedia (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical Degree preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform occasional standing, bending, and kneeling.
