Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, help to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. Other related duties.

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (RN CVOR) to join our surgical team. The RN CVOR is responsible for providing direct patient care in the CVOR, ensuring the highest level of safety and efficiency in surgical procedures. This role involves working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care in the cardiovascular OR.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any changes to the surgical team.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control practices.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs during procedures.
- Administer medications and assist with anesthesia monitoring as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to any surgical emergencies.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license

Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CNOR or CVOR certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum [3] years of experience in an operating room, preferably in cardiovascular surgery.

Skills: Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities.
