At A to Z Building Blocks, we’re more than a daycare—we’re a mission-driven early childhood learning center that supports children, families, and educators alike. And now, we’re looking for a vibrant and committed School Age Teacher to lead engaging, fun, and enriching experiences for children ages 5–12.

🎓 What You’ll Do:
As our School Age Teacher, you’ll be a key leader in helping students grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally before and after school. Your classroom will be a space where creativity, safety, and connection flourish.

You will:
  • Create and lead hands-on learning activities that support development in all areas—academic, social, emotional, and physical.
  • Design a curriculum rooted in research and adapted to the unique needs of each child.
  • Foster a safe, supportive classroom that meets Utah Child Care Licensing standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with families by communicating openly and consistently.
  • Lead daily routines and mentor support staff to ensure a positive and smooth classroom flow.
  • Promote active play, positive guidance, and team-building skills during indoor and outdoor time.
  • Stay engaged with professional growth, attending monthly team trainings and building your knowledge of best practices.
🧩 What You Bring:
We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about working with school-age children and helping them succeed.
  • Positive, dependable, and comfortable leading a group of students.
  • A great communicator and problem-solver who works well with children, families, and teammates.
  • Familiar with Utah’s School Age Program Quality Assessment (SA-PQA) through the Utah Afterschool Network (preferred).
  • Able to pass a state and federal background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to sit on the floor and respond quickly to children's needs
  • Must be able to see, talk, and hear
