Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to assist surgeons and healthcare teams in the operating room. The CST will be responsible for preparing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and successful outcomes. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before procedures.
- Ensure the sterility of the operating room (OR) by following strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures during procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis following proper protocols.
- Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including suction machines, electrocautery devices, and sterilizers.
- Monitor and account for all surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after surgery.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping.
- Work closely with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other surgical staff to provide optimal patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a formal surgical technologist program or equivalent training.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
- Hospital Surgical Tech experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
Compensation: $24.63 - $34.00 per hour
