Technical Solutions Analyst

Job Summary  
The Technical Solutions Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting technology solutions for a growing distribution company.  This mid-level role focuses on integrating Microsoft Azure cloud services, Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) ERP, and Magento ecommerce to enhance business operations.  Data security is a top priority, ensuring the protection of sensitive business and customer information.  Strong communication skills are essential to bridge business needs with technical execution across multiple departments. 
This position is on-site in Madison Heights, MI.  The position will report to the Solutions Architect within the IT department. 
Key Responsibilities 
  • SQL Development and Scripting – Write SQL queries and scripts to automate workflows and integrate systems. 
  • Financial Reporting Support – Enhance reporting capabilities by working closely with the Finance team to generate accurate financial and operational reports. 
  • Troubleshooting and Support – Diagnose and resolve system issues across Azure, ERP, ecommerce, and databases. 
  • Documentation and Training – Create clear technical documentation and train end-users on system enhancements. 
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management – Deploy, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Azure resources for high availability, scalability, and security. 
  • Data Security and Compliance – Implement security best practices to protect business data and ensure compliance with industry standards. 
  • Solution Design and Integration – Develop and implement integrated solutions across Azure, Epicor P21, and ecommerce platforms to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes. 
  • ERP Administration (Epicor P21) – Configure, manage, and support Epicor P21, optimizing its use for inventory, order management, and finance. 
  • Ecommerce Platform (Magento) Integration Support – Ensure seamless integration between ecommerce platforms and back-end systems for a smooth omnichannel experience. 
  • Continuous Improvement – Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements that align IT solutions with business strategy. 
Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
  • Experience:  5+ years in IT systems integration, solutions engineering, or similar roles. 
  • ERP Proficiency (Epicor P21 preferred):  Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably in a distribution environment). 
  • Database and Scripting Skills:  Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) for automation and system integration. 
  • Microsoft Azure Expertise:  Hands-on experience managing Azure resources, security, and networking. 
  • Ecommerce Integration:  Experience integrating Ecommerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, etc.) with ERP and backend systems. 
  • Data Security:  Solid understanding of security principles, access controls, encryption, and compliance standards. 
  • Financial Reporting Acumen:  Experience supporting ERP-based financial reporting and collaborating with Finance teams. 
Soft Skills 
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Strong collaboration skills across IT, operations, finance, and sales. 
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving aptitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Customer-service mindset with a proactive approach to challenges. 
Preferred Skills and Certifications 
  • ERP/Epicor Expertise:  Prior experience with Epicor P21 as a super-user or technical lead is helpful. 
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting:  Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or Tableau for enhanced reporting. 
  • Industry Knowledge:  Understanding of distribution and wholesale operations for better system alignment. 
  • DevOps and Automation:  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and integration tools is a plus. 
  • Project Management:  Exposure to ERP implementations, cloud migrations, or ecommerce integrations, with familiarity in Agile or waterfall methodologies. 
  • Security Certifications:  CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Azure Security Engineer Associate are desirable. 
  • Cloud/Architecture Certifications:  Microsoft Azure certifications (Solutions Architect, Administrator) are beneficial.
