Mysa Autism Center is seeking a skilled and confident Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support clients with a history of high and/or aggressive behaviors. The ideal candidate has experience working with adolescents with high-intensity needs and demonstrates the ability to maintain safety, therapeutic boundaries, and consistent behavior management strategies. 

Job Summary: 

The Registered Behavior Technician will apply empirically based behavioral principles to all clients. The RBT functions as an integral part of the treatment team and ensures that all necessary documentation is completed promptly to benefit the clients that the Behavior Technician works with. This is an hourly position. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Behavioral Intervention: 
Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to clients based on individualized treatment plans created by a BCBA. 
Implement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and teach communication, social, and daily living skills. 
Use positive reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors and track progress. 
Data Collection and Reporting: 
Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and skill acquisition during each session. 
Communicate client progress, setbacks, and any concerns to the supervising BCBA. 
Assist in updating treatment goals and strategies as needed, based on data and client progress. 
Collaboration: 
Work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and the clinical team to ensure consistency in implementing therapy. 
Participate in regular training and supervision meetings to improve service quality and adhere to best practices. 
Client Support: 
Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for each client, promoting independence and functional skills. 
Provide feedback and coaching to families on techniques to support the client’s progress at home. 
Ethical Standards: 
Must be able to remain actively engaged with clients for extended periods of time (up to 6–8 hours/day with breaks). 
Preferred Experience: 

  • Working with teens or older children in behavioral health or special education. 
  • Handling aggression or crisis behaviors using safety protocols. 
  • Maintaining therapeutic structure and rapport under supervision of a BCBA. 
Qualifications/Educational Requirements: 

  • High School diploma, preferably some college. 
  • Registered Behavior Technician, or ability to be board certified within three months of hire. 
  • Applied Behavior Analysis, Medicaid, Waiver and Private Insurance experience preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong leadership experience with great interpersonal and people skills. 
  • Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills and abilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop programs that fit strategically with company goals. 
 

Physical and Emotional Requirements: 

This position requires strong physical stamina, emotional regulation, and the ability to implement proactive and reactive behavior supports.
