Position Overview


We’re hiring an in-person, entry-level Marketing Associate who will play a critical role in Buffalo Solar’s next phase of growth. This is a hands-on opportunity for a recent graduate to help shape how our company is seen across the region — both online and in the community. From content creation and social media to event planning and partner outreach, this role is built for someone ready to learn, contribute, and lead from day one.


Our goal is simple but ambitious: do more with less. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creativity, storytelling, and finding high-impact ways to generate attention, trust, and quality commercial leads.


Key Responsibilities

  • Increase brand reach through targeted social media engagement and shareable content
  • Strengthen Buffalo Solar’s reputation as a trusted local leader in renewable energy
  • Activate community-driven opportunities to generate interest and referrals
  • Drive consistent, high-quality leads through cost-effective awareness efforts

Content & Social Media

  • Develop and post organic content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to build brand awareness and educate C&I audiences
  • Create short-form video content (customer highlights, install walk-throughs, "Why Solar?" explainers)
  • Share updates on solar incentives, policy changes, and Buffalo-area energy trends
  • Repurpose content for newsletters, blog posts, and printed collateral
Community Engagement & Events

  • Coordinate Buffalo Solar’s presence at local commercial events (e.g., builder trade shows, clean energy expos, economic development forums)
  • Assist in sponsorship and co-marketing efforts with contractors, realtors, HVAC companies, and municipal partners
  • Set up signage, lead capture tools (QR codes), and follow-up communications

Referral & Ambassador Program

  • Manage customer referral program logistics ($1,000 per closed deal)
  • Capture testimonials, case studies, and on-site media with business owners and facility managers

Brand Growth & Internal Culture

  • Assist in campaigns that promote Buffalo Solar’s workplace culture and values
  • Support internal team spotlights and behind-the-scenes content to humanize the brand
Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor marketing performance using Google Analytics, Meta tools, and email metrics
  • Track lead sources and content engagement to inform strategy through Zoho Analytics
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and content planning tools
  • Ability to create short videos (experience with Canva, CapCut, or similar is a plus)
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive — eager to take initiative and solve problems
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, mission-driven small business environment

Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
