Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Optician / Optical Lab Technician to join our team. This hybrid role combines hands-on optical lab work with exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for edging and finishing lenses, assembling eyewear to precise specifications, and supporting patients in choosing eyewear that best fits their lifestyle and vision needs.

The ideal candidate has experience in lens fabrication and repair, as well as excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of optical materials, tools, and measurements. You’ll also assist with in-office procedures and support doctors and staff in delivering a seamless patient experience.


Responsibilities 
  • Grind, edge, and finish lenses to exact specifications

  • Assemble and align eyeglasses accurately per prescription

  • Operate lab equipment (edgers, lensometers, tint machines)

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure product accuracy and durability

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab workspace

  • Greet patients and gather lifestyle and vision needs

  • Take accurate facial measurements for proper frame fitting

  • Help patients select eyewear and contact lenses

  • Explain product features, pricing, insurance, and payment options

  • Prepare and submit orders to ophthalmic labs

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office confidentiality standards

Qualifications
  • Previous optical or optician experience strongly preferred

    Skilled in lens edging and finishing processes

    Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

    Strong communication and customer service skills

    Familiarity with optical lab tools and basic computer programs

    Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices

Compensation: $57,000.00 per year
