Kids Swim Coordinator is responsible for building the Kids Swim program as well as overseeing the swim instructor staff, and assisting with the overall operation of the swim lesson program. You will ensure that all safety and teaching guidelines are followed and will conduct regular evaluations of the swim instructor staff.  This position will also be available during swimming lessons to answer questions from participants of the program.

Location: FFC Oak Park 
Compensation: $20 per hour up to 20 hours a week PLUS bonus opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend swimming lesson sessions to supervise and answer participant questions
  • Set up and track registrations for each swim session
  • Conduct regular in-service trainings and staff meetings
  • Being present during family hours, creating a white board and generating momentum for the program
  • Create swim instructor schedules
  • Evaluate instructors regularly and provide constructive feedback
  • Assist instructors with lesson planning and/or teaching
  • Create and update instructor manual
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians of lesson participants
  • Fill in as a substitute instructor when needed
  • Maintain current certifications including any additional safety training
  • Track and organize lesson participant report cards for each session
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology or a current nationally accredited personal trainer certification
  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • 3 years of teaching swimming lessons
  • Competitive swimming background
  • Lifeguard experience is preferred but not required
  • Must feel comfortable teaching private and group lessons with all age groups
