Job Summary:
The Neighborhood Energy Advisor (NEA) serves as a trusted local resource helping residents understand and access energy efficiency programs, renewable energy options, and cost-saving opportunities. Working within designated neighborhoods, the NEA supports outreach, education, and implementation of home energy upgrades, with a focus on equity, community engagement, and climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Outreach & Engagement

    • Conduct door-to-door outreach, attend neighborhood meetings, and host energy workshops.

    • Build relationships with residents, local organizations, and community leaders.

    • Tailor energy information to meet the diverse needs of the community.

  • Energy Education & Advising

    • Provide guidance on energy-saving behaviors, home upgrades, rebates, and financing options.

    • Assist residents with applications for weatherization, solar programs, or utility assistance.

    • Coordinate and attend home energy assessments, where applicable.

  • Data & Impact Tracking

    • Track outreach efforts, program enrollments, and energy savings using provided tools.

    • Collect feedback from residents to improve program delivery and community satisfaction.

  • Collaboration & Coordination

    • Collaborate with utility companies, contractors, and nonprofit partners.

    • Support coordination of home visits, contractor scheduling, and follow-up services.

    • Stay updated on changes to programs, technologies, and policy developments.

Qualifications:
  • Passion for environmental sustainability, energy equity, or climate action.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual/multilingual a plus.

  • Familiarity with local communities, particularly historically underserved populations.

  • Ability to explain technical information in a simple and accessible way.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or CRM tools (training provided).

  • Prior experience in community organizing, social work, energy, or customer service preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if outreach requires travel).

Working Conditions:
  • Field-based work in neighborhoods, with some office or remote administrative work.

  • May require evening or weekend availability to attend community events.

  • Physical ability to walk, stand, or carry outreach materials for extended periods.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
