Goal: To initially train all teachers and continually support the development of their skills, abilities, and understanding of the Balanced Learning® curriculum and its implementation in the classrooms.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; OR Child Development Associate™ (CDA) Credential™ preferred
 - Minimum of three years teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program
 - Must meet state licensing and Primrose training requirements
 - Preferred: Meet required qualifications for director in Texas and possess and maintain a valid Director's Credential

Essential Job Functions:
- Must meet the designated person-in-charge and teacher requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School training requirements.
 - Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
 - Assisting children with activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and toileting.
 - Engaging in physical activities with children, including playing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
 - Communicating effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
 - Maintaining a clean and organized school environment.
 - Responding quickly to emergencies or safety issues.
 - Following health and safety guidelines, including sanitation and hygiene practices.
 - Collaborating with other staff members and administrators to ensure the well-being of children.
 - Supervising and ensuring the safety of children and staff, including hearing and seeing children to provide adequate supervision.
 - Overseeing and managing daily operations of the childcare facility, including scheduling, staffing to ratio, and program implementation.
 - Training, mentoring, and evaluating childcare staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to policies and procedures.
 - Communicating effectively with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders regarding childcare programs, policies, and children’s progress.
 - Ensure required and necessary training is completed and documented to local childcare regulation and Primrose standards for all teaching staff.
 - Supervise and provide regular constructive feedback to teaching staff.
 - Act as designated person-in-charge when director is unavailable or not on the building premises.
 - Collaborating with other supervisors, administrators, and educational specialists to enhance childcare programs and services.
 - Resolving conflicts and addressing disciplinary issues among children and staff in a fair and constructive manner.
 - Ensuring compliance with employment laws for staff as needed.
 - Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather in all seasons as needed for supervisory duties.
 - Able to drive bus in compliance with traffic laws and expectations for bus drivers by childcare licensing and Primrose Schools.
 - Able to work in kitchen to ensure consistent meal and snack preparation and compliance with health codes.
 
Responsibilities:
- Understands and has strong working knowledge of Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum
 - Passionately believes in and is able to communicate all aspects of the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning
 - Participates in the selection and hiring of teaching staff
 - Coordinates with other members of the Leadership Team to implement the training plan for new teaching staff according to classroom-specific Continual Learning Guides
 - Ensures teacher training requirements are up-to-date
 - Conducts classroom observations to regularly support and ensure Balanced Learning® curriculum implementation and delivery
 - Collaborates with other members of the Leadership Team to provide ongoing feedback for teaching staff, using a variety of tools such as Classroom Observation Forms and Teacher Evaluations
 - Works with teachers to identify strengths and areas of opportunity to design plans for continual improvement
 - Creates a culture of engagement by empowering teachers to find solutions for themselves
 - Maintains confidentiality
