Job Overview
The Quality Engineer will assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining initiatives critical to the Company's Quality Management System. The Quality Engineer will work directly with the manufacturing, sales, purchasing and engineering processes. The Quality Engineer will analyze internal and external Voice of Customer to drive improvement to processes and product conformance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Supports Certification and Compliance to ISO 9001 Standards
- Assist with Monitoring and Measurement of Process Performance, Control of Non-Conforming Product, Continuous Improvement Initiatives and Corrective & Preventive Actions
- Performs and Manages Internal and External Audits of the Company’s Quality Management System.
- Provides Performance Reports and Improvement Recommendations regarding the4 Company’s Quality Management System.
- Monitors and Evaluates Internal and External Corrective Actions, Assigning Additional Actions, as Necessary.
- Assist with Managing Customer Service Requests, Warranty Claims and Returned Material Authorizations.
- Supports Scheduling, Presenting, and Recording Updates of Quality Data for Quarterly Management Review Meetings.
- Assist with first article inspections, production part approval processes, and receiving inspections for purchased products as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree: in Mechanical Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001 Standards.
- Self-Motivated, must be able to work efficiently and independently.
- Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics & statistical process control.
- Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook and associated spreadsheets and databases.
- Lean manufacturing mindset.
- Ability to Learn Production Sequences and Quality Standards.
- Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving and critical thinking skills.
- In-house, including Company software (Trello, AutoCAD, eDrawings and Global Shop), and where applicable. Product training.
- ERP and CRM Experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office and shop environment.
- May be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
- Occasionally may be required to lift up to 30 pounds. Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
- PPE required: safety glasses and steel toe footwear.
- Prolonged Periods of Sitting at a Desk and Working on a computer.
- Must be Able to Traverse the Production Floor.
